Spike Edney Presents The Best Rock and Soul Show in Town with his Ultimate All-Star Band!

Queen’s keyboard player and musical director, Spike Edney, will be bringing his All-Star-Band to The Exchange at Sturminster Newton this September. The SAS Band will includesome of the finest rock, pop and soul musicians and performers in the UK. The line up includes legendary Fish – lead singer of rock band Marillion with hits including “Kayleigh” and “Lavender”, Tom Robinson of the Tom Robinson Band, best known for “War Baby”, “2-4-6-8 Motorway” and “Don’t Take No for an Answer”, Toyah Willcox with her biggest hits “It’s a Mystery”, “Thunder in the Mountains” and “I Want to Be Free” Patti Russo, Meat Loaf’s duet partner for over 20 years – “I’d Do Anything for Love”, “Paradise By The Dashboard Light” and “Bat Out Of Hell” and joining them will be Ryan Molloy, the original lead in “The Jersey Boys”, acclaimed for his West End and Broadway performance of Frankie Valli in the long running musical.

Originally from Portsmouth, Spike Edney is one of the most respected and versatile session musicians and musical directors in the business. In addition to being legendary rock band Queen’s musical director and keyboard player since 1984, British multi-instrumentalist, Spike has toured, recorded and performed with the living and late legends of our time for over 40 years. It is from this extensive network of musician friends he calls upon to put together each unique show.

He has previously performed with artists such as Roger Daltrey, Roger Taylor, Brian May, Bruce Dickinson, Paloma Faith, Alicia Keys, Leona Lewis, Annie Lennox, Tony Hadley, The Sugababes, Roy Wood, Chaka Khan, Lionel Richie, Anastacia, Gary Brooker, Paul Young, Marti Pellow, Carl Barat, Paul Rodgers, Mark King, Jack Bruce, Madeline Bell, Jeff Beck, Bob Geldof, Lulu, Suggs, Midge Ure, Errol Brown, Amy Winehouse, Mel C, Graham Gouldman, Kiki Dee, Leo Sayer, Eric Idle, Arthur Brown and Chris Thompson, to name a few.

The Lounge Kittens, a comedy rock lounge act from Southampton are the support act for The SAS Band. They perform covers of classic popular songs, in particular rock and metal songs, in a lounge style. The Lounge Kittens are Jenny Deacon (vocals and piano), Timia Gwendoline (vocals), and Zan Lawther (vocals), sometimes called Red Kitten, Blue Kitten, and Pink Kitten respectively because of the colour of their hair! This will be a show not to be missed!
